What is TypingFix?

TypingFix is a free, browser-based typing platform with seven primary tools. The Typing Test measures typing performance in 55+ languages. The Code Typing Test focuses on source-code syntax across 13 programming languages. The Typing Tutor teaches touch typing through 235 structured lessons. The Typing Race provides simulated competitive races against clearly labelled guest bots. The Leaderboard ranks scores by language and mode. The Dashboard keeps your saved history, streaks and achievements. And Certificates document a qualifying test result. The practice and testing tools work without an account; the dashboard and saved history need a free account.

Not one tool's feature — universal

Built into every page, not just one tool

A few things aren't part of any single tool above — they're baked into the whole site.

6 color themes, everywhere

Professional, Catppuccin, Cyberpunk, Monokai, Slate, and Sakura — pick one from the theme button in the header and it applies instantly across the whole site: the typing test, the code typing test, your dashboard, every page. Your choice is saved automatically, so it's still there the next time you visit.

Mobile friendly

Most tools work properly on a phone or tablet — not a squeezed-down desktop layout. That includes the on-screen input handling for the code typing test and the animated hands overlay in the typing tutor, both built to hold up on a touch screen. Typing Race is the exception — it's designed for a physical keyboard, with mobile support planned.

The core tool

Typing Test

A multilingual, plugin-built typing test that adapts itself to whatever language, script, and direction you throw at it — not a translated clone of one English test.

55+
languages
21
engine features
4
error modes

55+ languages, real scripts

3 right-to-left languages (Arabic, Urdu, Persian) and 5 IME languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Burmese, Lao) — not just Latin transliterations.

Words, Story, or Numbers

Type a shuffled word bank, a finite passage that ends the test when it runs out, or generated number strings in your language's own numeral script.

4 error-handling modes

Reveal mistakes as you go, stop overflow at the word boundary, block the word until it's correct, or block the wrong key outright — your call.

Blind mode

Hide errors, or hide errors and the caret too, so you type by feel instead of chasing red underlines.

Race a pace bot

A ghost caret glides ahead of you at a fixed speed, a ramping speed, or one that auto-adapts to how fast you're actually typing.

Deep result analytics

A full keyboard heatmap, per-finger accuracy, your weakest keys, a WPM-over-time chart, and a stroke-for-stroke replay of the run you just typed.

For developers

Code Typing Test

Practice typing real code — the syntax, the symbols, the indentation — not prose. Built to make your fingers as fast as your editor.

13
prog. languages
9
interface languages
3
difficulty tiers

13 programming languages

Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C#, C++, Go, Rust, Swift, PHP, SQL, HTML, and CSS — each with beginner, intermediate, and advanced snippets, plus a custom-snippet mode to paste and practice your own code.

Auto-indent

Leading whitespace after a new line is filled in for you, so you're never fighting the editor just to prove you know the syntax.

Symbol accuracy, tracked separately

Brackets, operators, and punctuation get their own accuracy score, since fumbling `{`, `;`, or `=>` is a different skill from fumbling letters.

Personal session dashboard

Your average WPM, all-time best, accuracy trend, and your last 10 sessions charted right in the app — no account needed.

Save your own snippets

Paste in code from your own projects and practice on text that actually matters to you.

9 interface languages

The app itself — not just the code — is available in English, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, Korean, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese.

For beginners

Typing Tutor

Never learned to touch type? Start here. A guided, lesson-by-lesson course that shows you exactly which finger belongs on which key.

235
lessons
4
lesson formats
0→3
stars per lesson

Animated hands + keyboard

An on-screen keyboard and a pair of animated hands light up the exact finger you need for the next key — no guessing.

Sequential, structured lessons

Each lesson unlocks only once you've passed the one before it, so the course builds real muscle memory in order, not at random.

Four ways to practice each lesson

The same keys taught four different ways: full guided text with the hands overlay, a single-key introduction, a boxed review grid, and a flowing practice paragraph — not four difficulty or language settings.

Stars and points

Every lesson scores 0–3 stars based on your accuracy, with points that add up as your skill does.

Realtime keystroke playback

Watch your own lesson run back stroke-for-stroke afterwards, so you can see exactly where you hesitated.

English-keyboard curriculum

The app's interface is available in 9 languages, but every lesson currently teaches English, QWERTY-based typing — the same course for everyone, regardless of your interface language.

For fun & competition

Typing Race

Speed feels different when someone else is racing you. Hit Start, watch the countdown hit zero, and see who crosses the line first — no lobby, no waiting.

5
racers per room
6
bot personalities
3-2-1
countdown

A full five-lane room, every time

You plus four guest racers, each with their own lane and a live-updating WPM readout — TypingFix seats a complete room instantly, so a race is always ready.

Six distinct racer personalities

Steady, sprinter, starter, choppy, stumbler, and average — each paces the race differently, so no two races feel the same.

Honest guest labels

Every opponent shows as "Guest(1234)" with a random number tag — never a human-sounding handle dressed up as a real user, so a simulated racer is never mistaken for a person.

Instant ranked results

A podium for the top 3 plus a full ranked table, updating live as the racers behind you keep crossing the line.

Tracked on your dashboard

Races played, races won, your win rate, and your best race WPM all show up on your profile once you've raced at least once.

No signup required to race

Jump straight into a race as a guest — create an account later if you want your results to follow you.

Compete & compare

Leaderboard

See how the fastest recorded scores compare across language, mode and time period — the all-time and weekly boards are built from real test results, not a static snapshot.

All-Time and Weekly boards

Switch between your best-ever score and just the last 7 days, so newcomers have a fair shot at the weekly board too.

Filter by language and mode

Narrow the board to one specific language, or just Words vs. Story mode, to compare like for like.

Top-3 podium

The fastest three typists get a gold/silver/bronze podium above the full ranked table.

Uploaded profile avatars

Your uploaded avatar shows up right on the board next to your name, not just initials.

Tap any public name to see that typist's full stats, personal bests, and activity history.

Respects your privacy setting

Turn your profile private in Settings and you still appear on the board — your name just stops linking out to a public profile.

Typing, Code, and Tutor stats

Your progress is tracked separately across all three practice categories, not lumped into one generic number.

Personal bests by language & mode

Streaks and a contribution calendar

A GitHub-style calendar of every day you practiced, plus your current and longest streaks.

Achievements, including hidden ones

Certificates and races too

Your certificates and typing-race results show up on the same dashboard as your regular tests.

Choose your test length

Certify a quick 1-minute burst or a sustained 10-minute run — whichever proves what you're going for.

Pick your speed unit

Print WPM, CPM, or KPM on the certificate — whichever your test language actually measures you in — with the live number shown before you generate it.

Everything that matters, printed

Your name, your speed, your accuracy, the test duration, the date, and a unique certificate ID.

Verifiable, not just decorative

A recruiter or teacher can independently confirm the name, speed, accuracy and date — it's a real recorded result, not a self-made image.

Download or print

Download your certificate as a PDF, PNG, or SVG, or print it directly from the results screen.

Shareable certificate link

Every certificate gets its own public link and QR code so others can open and confirm the recorded result.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is TypingFix actually free?
Yes — every tool on this page, including certificates, is free with no signup required to use. Creating an account is optional and only unlocks saved history, achievements, and leaderboard tracking.
Which tool should I start with?
If you've never learned to touch type, start with the Typing Tutor — it teaches finger placement from scratch. If you already type but want to know your speed, the Typing Test is the fastest way to find out.
Do I need an account to use any of these?
No. Every practice and testing tool works immediately as a guest, including Typing Race and certificate generation. No signup is required to take the certificate test or generate a certificate — you only enter the name to be printed on it. Signing in adds a saved history, a dashboard, and achievements on top.
What languages are supported?
The core Typing Test supports 55+ languages. The Typing Tutor, Code Typing Test, and Typing Race interfaces are available in 9 languages, with the Typing Test also driving the language-specific typing-certificate pages.
Can I use TypingFix on my phone?
Most TypingFix tools work on mobile, including the code typing test's on-screen input handling for touch keyboards. Typing Race is currently designed primarily for a physical keyboard and is best experienced on desktop or laptop.
Do the different tools measure speed the same way?
Where WPM is the metric, TypingFix follows the same 5-characters-per-word convention everywhere. But WPM isn't always the metric in use — some languages are CPM or KPM-primary, and the Typing Tutor uses a correct-only WPM while Typing Race uses a continuously-measured correct-progress WPM — rather than the Typing Test's Net WPM. See the methodology page for the full, tool-by-tool breakdown.
Is my typing certificate really verifiable?
Yes. Every certificate gets a public link with a unique ID and a QR code that anyone can open to confirm your name, speed, accuracy, and the date it was earned.
Does everyone show up on the leaderboard?
Your qualifying scores are eligible for the leaderboard by default, and you can make your profile private in Settings at any time — your score still ranks, it just won't be clickable through to a public profile page anymore. Each leaderboard view then shows the ranked results available for the period and filters you select, such as all-time or weekly, by language and mode.
Do I need an account to see my dashboard?
Yes — the dashboard requires a free account, since it's built around a saved history: personal bests, streaks, and achievements that only make sense tied to you specifically.
